One of the last truly great secrets left in techno, the mysterious artist/outfit/??? Rezzett turn in a truly dazzling album for Trilogy Tapes, landing half a decade on since the likes of Yayla and Sutty first catapulted us out into the oblivion of the project's take on tape tekno and distorted jungle.

The Rezzett LP takes form as an impeccably curated eight-track LP, of which the running order shows that Rezzett can switch up any club pressure style that they have their minds on, adding a dose of that Rezz, hypnotic sampler crunch and making it wholly their own. From the euphoric build up bounce of Hala, the almost mournful spin out of Longboat and the Terror Danjah landing on L.I.E.S. grime haze of Gremlinz. While the duo's undeniably discography highlight was for us the ripped up rulebook jungle pressure of Zootie, Worst Ever Contender perfectly builds on that hardcore aesthetic with some seriously 8-bit crunch to the rolling breaks and bass. Making it clear that this LP contains some of the most essential Rezzett cuts yet.

It's a truly jaw-dropping affair, melting the best elements of dub, jungle, grime and techno into the Rezzett sound, one that stands out as instantly and as identifiably as its killer Will Bankhead designed sleeve.
