Though the name Kwake Bass may not ring any bells as of January 2018, it might be best to acquaint yourself with this guy sooner rather than later. Having spent a few years playing alongside the likes of MF Doom, Pharaohe Monch and ?uestlove, Kwake Bass has stepped out on his own in recent months. Hot on the heels of his DEM1NS #1 EP we get this single-track drop. ‘Marble Ruin’ is a strange rolling techno track. It feels languid, but the 8-bit percussion and plumes of digital distortion continually throw the listener off. As it progresses the track introduces a fuzzy bass groove that slowly melts your mind.
