TSVI and Wallwork’s Nervous Horizon imprint continues to turn heads with this six-track release by one of the label bosses. The NH sound - a mutant strain of UK Funky that also incorporates grime, garage, techno and more - is really put through its paces here. While things start off relatively in-lane with two Lil Silva-indebted tracks, it’s in Rambo’s second half that TSVI goes off the deep end. ‘Roller’ finds a midpoint between Jlin and DJ Mujava; ‘Xus Lord’ clatters and wheezes before transforming into a trap beat; and Wallwork collaboration ‘Jaguar’ marauds forward on a disorientating beat before collapsing into a frantic arpeggiated breakdown.
