Anton Newcombe et al are on album number 15 now, though rather than ever expand their sound they’ve simply continued to hone the BJM sound over the course of a career that now spans more than twenty years. If you know what you’re in for then you know what you’re in for when it comes to this group, though it should be noted that Third World Pyramid is one of the densest-sounding records in the band’s catalogue. Chock-full of guitars, harmonies, delays, reverbs, bells, drums and more, the songs still land somewhere between The Velvet Underground and The Jesus & Mary Chain.
