Next up on Izabel’s Lullabies for Insomniacs imprint is the enigmatic duo of Phillip Jondo and Simon Weins. Preludes #1 is the debut release for these two friends that have been collaborating for some time now via long distance working methods. Exactly how these recordings were assembled we’re unsure but the result is more than satisfactory. Whirring, mechanical club warm up plods (‘DADA.DUB’) and downtempo IDM influenced skits (‘SMO.DVE’) make up the bulk of the album with occasional outbursts of noise-heavy sound abstractions. If you like experimental electronics in any form this one is worth your time.
