The 100th release in Kompakt’s Speicher series has the German techno institution providing eight more wedges of DJ-friendly fodder. Label boss Michael Mayer kicks things off in a typically pumping manner - ‘Lout’ builds from a tasty bass-and-kick groove into the sort of chugging techno-disco that will always go down well in the club. Jorg Burger’s ‘Beatmesse Pt. 1 & 2’ is a more somnambulent thing, with Spaghetti Western guitars providing a quaint and unusual foil for the track’s first half before proceedings drift off into peyote-psych ambience. Jurgen Paape provides two well-heeled rollers before Voigt & Voigt go fully zany on ‘Leise’ and ‘Bum Bum Bar’.
