GLASS is the sound of a continuously frosted, elegant drone from Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto, captured within the confines of a 36 minute live, improvised set recorded at the architect Philip Johnson's hallowed Glass House, in the bucolic setting of New Canaan, Connecticut.

It's a truly hollowed out recording, the use of empty space is so achingly at the forefront, it's almost like what we imagine the early dubstep 12"s would sound like if they were playing inside out within the most outer-reaching vacuums of space. Every single note is perfectly captured, and when listened to on headphones its capacity as a transportation vessel to worlds unknown really kicks into play. To our ears, this is the sound of Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto and a thousand crystals, each one being snapped one after the other within an endless echo chamber, whilst they search for the perfect drone with a transparent gaze on their faces. Certified next level ambient that very few operators within this (audio)field can even come close to penetrating.
