Though born nearly two decades apart, British OGs Goldie and Skepta share a similar steel and will to win that has seen them rise to the peaks of their respective genres. It makes sense, then, that this collaboration should be the success that it is. ‘Upstart’, built from a loping kick-snare groove and Hammer Horror strings, is a spare and spooky piece of production from the Metalheadz legend. Atop this, Skeppy whips himself into a frenzy that eventually has him screaming along with his own chorus. On the flip we get some typical MH goodness in the form of ‘Poisonous Darts’. A vinyl only release that comes with instrumentals of both cuts.
