Central Processing Unit boss C.P.Smith releases a record that is arguably the logical conclusion of the label’s output up until this point. The CPU ethos has always been a simple one - throwback club traxx, almost always built from 808s and 909s, that make the room move something crazy. On this four-track, Smith has rebuilt some classic electro-funk drum tracks from the bottom up. Armed with the legendary Roland drum machine, he meticulously recreates the beats from club classics like Mantronix’s ‘Needle To The Groove’. DJs and producers will find plenty to sample, mix, loop, chop, screw and shout over here.
