Hamburg’s hfn (Kasper Bjorke, Trentemoller) present the debut LP from Null+Void. Originally surfacing in the early 2000s as Kap10Kurt, New York’s Kurt Uenala has been busy producing for the likes of Moby and The Kills in the intervening years, hence the slow birth of Cryosleep. It contains several wedges of expensive-sounding electro, one where big-room drums provide solid foundations for the thick spools of synth above them. You can see why Uenala has caught the eye of Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan, and Gahan provides a characteristically pleading vocal to ‘Where I Wait’. The Big Pink, Shannon Funchess and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club also guest.
