Erol Alkan’s Phantasy imprint is reissuing a wide range of his remixes, largely culled from the producer’s late-2000s heyday, as a deluxe five-LP set. If that package proves too dear for you, then fear not - the label are also pressing a series of single vinyl releases that each contain a couple of his choicest morsels. This one shows off how Alkan came to be known as king of the indie disco. While ‘Zero’ turns the Yeah Yeah Yeahs original into a weirdo-lectro banger, it’s his stomping, Liquid Liquid-indebted flip of Franz Ferdinand’s ‘Do You Want To’ that is the real winner.
