About bloody time. Though Karin Dreijer created big waves with the first Fever Ray album when it dropped in 2009, the intervening years have been characterised by an increasing clamour for something - anything - new to emerge from the FR workhouse. It is perhaps unsurprising that, three years on from The Knife calling it a day, we finally get what we’ve been asking for. On Plunge, Dreijer teams up with Principe’s NIDIA, Paula Temple and Peder Mannerfelt to create an album of psychedelic, punk-spirited electro-pop. The tone and feel of the first Fever Ray LP are carried over here, creating an LP charged with energy and a willingness to push Dreijer’s own sonic boundaries.
