DJ Richard follows up 2015’s Dial LP Grind with this frosty three-track. Recorded in New England, the area’s wide-open landscapes and harsh winter clearly inform Path Of Ruin. The ten-plus-minute title track opens the EP with an undulating minor-chord minimal techno strut that morphs into a coldwave-inspired roller. ‘Gargoyle’ is the strangest track of the three, with moaning synths playing off a weird bleep-bloop motif, while ‘Stygian Freeze’ closes the set in sombre style.
