Seven years on from her previous LP One In Other, the legendary DJ and electronic experimentalist Chloe comes through with an album of leftfield techno, electronics and sound art. Taking something from her recent work at the prestigious Parisian electro-acoustic centre IRCAM, Endless Revisions echoes the likes of Pantha Du Prince in the way it uses dancefloor stylings as jumping-off points from which to investigate other soundworlds. On the likes of ‘Party Moonster’ and Ben Shemie collaboration ‘Recall’, that means bringing shards of discordant, robotic vocal into the mix; for ten-minute centrepiece ‘The Dawn’, it’s allowing the beat to take control while shading the track with noise, reverb and chit-chat. Elsewhere ‘Pendulum’ goes fully off the deep end before eventually enveloping you in buzzing synths.
