Bleep

The second single from Bicep’s debut album comes backed with two fresh jams on this new pressing. A highlight of the duo’s Ninja Tune LP, ‘Glue’ is a rose-tinted hymn to a lost rave culture in a manner similar to much of Jamie xx’s In Colour. The track’s hazy two-step comes draped in melancholy synths and deep flushes of vocal, and the overall effect is a track that will sound great on a big system, in a field, with the sun setting. Turning one’s attention to the new material, one finds a kindred spirit to ‘Glue’ in closer ‘DLR’, a cut that meanders wistfully over a muted groove. ‘Metro’ fleshes out the EP with five minutes of hard-nosed electro.
