Editions Mego (Emeralds, Fennesz) becomes the home for these two Posh Isolation mainstays. Loke Rahbek and KYO’s Frederik Valentin come together here to make music that sweeps away the tablecloth from under their previous work, particularly Rahbek’s. Gone are the booming power electronics and waves of digital distortion. Instead, what we have here are eight clean, ethereal sounding pieces of ambient/concrete that bring to mind Yamaneko’s recent Spa Commissions and the more tentative corners of Yves Tumor’s catalogue. The pair’s interest in the Japanese Edo concept of ‘the floating world’ augments an LP full of space and light most clearly on weightless wonders like ‘A Million Coloured Fish’ and ‘Garden Tattoo’.
