The first Legowelt LP to drop in the Clone Records orbit for a half-decade sees the born Danny Wolfers reprise his role of cheeky techno auteur. One look over the technicolour artwork and the track titles - ‘My Life in a Bush of Spaceweed’ anyone - suggests a playful LP, and Legendary Freaks in the Trash of Time delivers on that front. The dozen dubs are fun and fresh yet also come with real dancefloor intent - for every vampy slow-jam like ‘Revenge of the Nerds’, we get a tough, pounding banger ala ‘Trips In Polarius’. And on the sort-of-title-track, Legowelt offers an ebullient house tune in the vein of Floating Points’s ‘Vacuum Boogie’.
