Cool rhythm tracks from Detroit based duo Travis Galloway and Chris Durham on the new Gang of Ducks offshoot GOD CUTS. Opening cut ‘Suburban 53’ takes its cue from early Steve Poindexter etc but with a way more subdued, trippy approach that takes in eerie vocal snippets and whining synths. ‘Black Horse’ goes deep and dubby whilst ‘Fountain Park’ brings us back to the steady drum workout the record opens with.
