Angel Deradoorian continues to spread her wings. Following on from playing in Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks and Dirty Projectors, her solo career has been characterised by poised, playful releases such as 2015 LP The Expanding Flower Planet. Out via anticon (Pictureplane, Baths, Slugabed), Eternal Recurrence is a deftly-crafted EP that demonstrates Deradoorian’s growing confidence by foregrounding her voice. Lead single ‘Mountainside’ is a spare, slender thing - using little more than roomy pianos, flutes and vocal harmonies, the atmosphere of the song sweeps the listener up in a manner that would provide a fine soundtrack to stargazing on a clear night.
