Yeah You return to Slip (Mica Levi & Oliver Coates, Chaines) with another EP of visceral avant-electronica. Parts of Krutch are so disorientating and abrasive as to border on all-out noise. The wailing feedback of ‘No more metaphors, hold life still’ recalls Merzbow, while closer ‘SOIK CHAT video’ coughs and splutters like Autechre at their most obtuse. When the duo pull things back into focus, the lopsided pop of ‘Pace’ and ‘Discomfort’ conjures up an image of Portishead, Alice Glass and Felicita getting together for a jam.
