Insane package of forty club cuts from Colombia here, courtesy of the guys at Honest Jon’s. The Guarapo sound is built up of vintage highlife/waka drum samples and mutated into fierce, rough n ready tracks made with full contemporary club impact in mind. From the intro cut ‘Kole Con El Wee’ we get a sense of what’s to come, cut up vocal samples and skewed percussion grooves made with the adventurous DJ in mind. These loop based tracks work best on jams like ‘Anda’ – total tool tracks through and through. Salute to the HJ crew!
