This being an Idle Hands release, it was pretty much taken as read that it would be worth your time. But what does it sound like? Well, much like the Timedance and Livity Sound crews as well as IH luminaries Leif and Matt Karmil, Ice & Spheres plays into the exciting new Bristolian sound fusing West Country soundsystem aesthetics with European techno stylings. The title track blooms brilliantly from an echo-laden opening into a reserved-yet-rumbling two-step, while ‘Mechanisms’ transplants sparse chords onto a garage shuffle.
