Brain child of LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy and friends, DFA have been a staple in the punk funk/nu-disco scene since kicking off almost fifteen years ago. Still going strong in 2017 they deliver this new LP from Black Dice affiliate Eric Copeland fresh off the back of his extremely well received L.I.E.S record. The album is impressive, with eight tracks of high octane, non-conformist club music that sit somewhere between the aesthetic of early Unit Moebius and Powell’s Diagonal 12”s. ‘Neckbone’ and ‘Mixer Shredder’ alone deliver visions of potential club carnage aplenty (whilst never coming across to serious!)
