London based label Discrepant follow up their stellar Bosaina LP with this curious assemblage of two dense soundscapes from O Morto. Deconstructing and reworking recordings of an ancient Congolese pygmy tribe, Morto then incorporates them into an ever-morphing, electronic tapestry conceived at SFU Burnaby, British Columbia. Quite a special listen in our eyes, and totally worth a look if you dig those old ethnographic LP’s (UNESCO etc). Think Roberto Musci but way more abstract, and rather than sketches or tracks, long form sound collages. Another great record from one of our current favourite labels.
