Holy grail ambient album from Hiroshi Yoshimura gets a second life thanks to Organic Music founder Obcure Sound compiler Chee Shimizu. Out of print for decades and previously only available on noisy cassette format, Pier & Loft shows Yoshimura at his most playful. Slightly less minimal than his Wave Notation record and a little less gimmicky than ‘Air’, the tracks on Pier & Loft recall Italian and American minimalism of the era but with a slightly different, stand alone feel. Fans of Tiziano Popoli’s ‘Scorie’ or Vito Ricci will lap this one up, but we’re sure it’s already on your radar.
