Krautrock demi-god Florian Fricke and his Popol Vuh outfit have released more than a few great albums. From the infamous Aguirre soundtrack to the ethereal gem Hosianna Mantra, the group covered a wide range of musical styles but still managed to have their own distinct identity. Their score for the 1987 film Cobra Verde is another Herzog/Kinski collaboration and is every bit as enchanting as The Wrath of God. If you like the music of Catherine Ribeiro, K. Leimer et al then this one is definitely worth a look. Choral chants, hand percussion and drifting ambient leaning guitar work aplenty!
