Siriusmo has been busy since dropping his 2013 album Enthusiast on Monkeytown. The intervening four years have seen him collaborate with Jean Michel-Jarre and Mr. Oizo and tour with Modeselektor as Siriusmodeselektor. He’s also been hard at work on Comic, and the producer’s third album contains fourteen tracks of wry, ebullient techno and synth-pop. While it’s fitting that he shares the Monkeytown stable with similar kooks like Moderat and Robot Koch, the impeccable songcraft at the heart of Comic brings to mind Todd Terje’s It’s Album Time. Just check the boisterous title track and ‘Geilomant’s knowing lounge-techno. Mr. Oizo returns the favour of collaboration, and the LP also features Dana, Romano and Jan Driver.
