Still here and still doing bits, Andrew Weatherall’s latest release leans on the stylings that made his name all his years ago. Both of the ‘Kiyadubs’ here are heavy on the 808s, with the classic drum machine’s bleeps and bloops forming the backbone of each. ‘45’ is a slow and chugging piece of cosmic house. The chordal stabs and the strange, wiggling synths are doused in delay, and as such form a pleasing interplay with the drums and dub-indebted bassline. B-side ‘47’ takes the same formula and applies it to a (slightly) more acidic formula while also working in some choice morsels of harsh noise.
