The idea of Mosca releasing on a label like Livity Sound might have seemed odd in the early 2010s, what with his penchant for pop-and-lock workouts (‘Tilt Shift’) and speed-garage rollers (‘Bax’, ‘Done Me Wrong’). However, fast-forward to 2017 the Bristol imprint is a perfect match for the producer’s highly unusual techno stylings. The two tracks here see Mosca continue down the rabbit hole of recent offerings for the likes of Timedance as well as slotting in nicely alongside recent LS pressings by Kowton and Forest Drive West. Both cuts bring together dub techno, garage and general synth zaniness while still keeping one eye on the floor. In the right hands, this is highly potent stuff.
