Made up of countless hours worth of field recordings taken in Gran Paradiso, BJNilsen presents his debut LP for avant-garde powerhouse Editions Mego. Stark, foreboding and vivid, these five compositions set out to paint a sonic portrait of the vast landscape of the Italian alps. Akin to the ‘movies for ears’ philosophy of Ela Orleans, we find Nilsen’s pieces would undoubtedly be best enjoyed with closed eyes and in a relaxing scenario for full impact.
