Kaya Kaya Records was an imprint that already had a more diverse stable than most out there prior to Orbit. Irish MC Rejjie Snow, avant-songster Gwilym Gold and NYC hardcore group Show Me The Body have all called the label home at various points, and to that lineup we can now add the Finnish synthwave band Man Duo. Orbit is a record conceived by two friends, and as such the album bubbles with charm and a great sense of fun. Tracks like ‘Vanessa’ and ‘The Middle’ are colourful synth-pop numbers, full of chunky basslines and bright synths, while ‘What If It Falls’ is a nimble techno cut that doffs its cap to Kraftwerk’s The Man-Machine.
