Morteza Hannaneh
Collapsing Market
Catalogue Number
Release Date
June 30, 2017

Parisian crew Collapsing Market present an incredible archival sound document unearthed by DJ and co-owner Cyrus Goberville. Recorded sometime in the 1960s, Tchashm-E-Del stars Goberville’s grandfather performing alongside Hannaneh (a founding member of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra). Initially broadcast as a radio play, the tape sat gathering dust in a Parisian apartment for decades until Collapsing Market discovered it and set about bringing this important cultural document back to life. As the press release states, this is the sort of time-forgotten recording that the good people at Folkways or Finders Keepers would dream about finding. Comes complete with faithful, astounding Persian inspired artwork courtesy of Thomas Jeppe.
