Bambooman has been steadily gaining traction since the drop of his Hollowed EP in 2013. Four years and a half-dozen releases later, the Yorkshire artist comes through with his first LP. It is easy to see how Bambooman has won the affections of Gilles Peterson these past few years. Whispers is built from the same blocks as the stuff that ends up on Peterson’s Brownswood label. Neo-soul chord progressions, sloping post-Dilla beatwork and tasteful house stylings all feature heavily across the fourteen tracks.
