Chile's Javiera González returns with the second in her ongoing collaboration with Tobias Freund, The Beat is On, following 2013's Meet Me Twice. Recorded between her home of Santiago de Chile, and his of Berlin, González's earthy vocals were improvised and recorded in one take before Freund added the music. Vilod (Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer) provide the remix on the B, a 15-minute deconstruction of the original with González's vocals remade as a ghostly fragment interjecting from a different dimension. Think Twin Peaks. An equally unusual and enticing pair.
