Two Detroit heavyweights continue the tradition of releasing hard copy mix tapes by bringing this intense live recording from the Music Gallery club to Theo’s Sound Signature imprint. Coming in at an hour and forty minutes, the two part mix is just what you’d expect - jazz funk, disco, rare groove and extraterrestrial house tracks (when Marcellus Pittman’s ‘There’s Somebody Out There’ comes in it’s hard not to imagine a full sweaty club going wild). Around halfway through Side 2 a heavily, heavily distorted ‘Distant Planet’ by Larry Heard comes in and has us dancing about in our computer chairs.
