Mr. Balearic himself returns to Church (FYI Chris, Folamour) with a full album of top-of-the-range soundscape-house. Most of the tracks on Saw You For The First Time are created with a particular moment in mind - that point at which the sun is setting over the festival site. Or possibly when it’s just about to come up at the open-air rave. Either way, this is blissful Balearicism that hits the emotional sweet spot. Everything here sounds lush and full, be Guy aping the Smallville Records clan on the title track, incorporating electro-disco touches for ‘Gone’, or tripping down a more Byrne-and-Eno My Life in the Bush of Ghosts-type path with ‘Claudi’.
