Domino sublabel Double Six Records (Bill Ryder-Jones, The Child of Lov) present the first full-length from Trailer Trash Tracys in a half-decade. The band’s lopsided approach to pop music throws together elements of shoegaze, lo-fi pop and 80s synth pop to beguiling effect. There is something to the likes of ‘Money For Moondogs’ and ‘Betty’s Cavatina’ - not unease exactly, more an air of plaintive strangeness - that means one could see them end up soundtracking a Twin Peaks episode. At a pinch, the group’s closest touchstones are Talk Talk, Cocteau Twins and Glasser - the latter particularly shines through on standout ‘Gong Gardens’.
