New work from Philippe Hallais on the tight knit Modern Love label. An LP follow up to his Low Jack release, An American Hero is a complex and beguiling beast full of strange and unorthodox sound design and a real knack for teasing the listener. Upon first listen we couldn’t help but give ‘Angela’ a few rewinds, a dubbed out piece with epic, tension building synth work throughout. The rest of the album flows with a similar atmosphere, glitch electronics and downtempo curiosities merging together to form a coherent and impressive listening experience.
