New Mancunian label debut with an LP from Echium that takes in eight Chain Reaction inspired downtempo cuts plus two bonus remixes from Space Afrika and Perfume Advert. The classic techno cannon is in full swing here as far as influences go, but Echium chooses to focus on the more abstract attributes of the sound and carve his own path by delivering scattered, beatless experiments. ‘Synthetic Space’ is our personal pick, a real murky ambient piece that holds a lot of depth amid countless lacklustre contemporaries.
