Manchester label The Death of Rave give new life to the eerie Hollywood Medieval, a beguiling and condemning look at the disparity of wealth and opportunity the composer observed whilst working in Los Angeles. Released initially as a digital download, Conor Thomas seemingly leapt at the chance to bring this one out on vinyl. It jumps between delicate DX7 and Juno 60 piano work and intense, heady rushes of sampled audio to create some form of visual cinema. If anyone has been enjoying the old Orquesta De Las Nubes LP’s we’d recommend checking out tracks like ‘Your Last Cadenza’ for a contemporary take on the sound. Great stuff and definitely one to come back to.
