Australian composer, producer and all-round exceptional music-maker Ben Frost has collaborated with some greats over the years, with Björk, Brian Eno, Tim Hecker, Richard Mosse and Lawrence English being among them, and can now add punk icon (and successful producer in his own right) Steve Albini to the list. In summer 2016, the two got together in Chicago for a couple of weeks, resulting in over two hours of recorded music. This diverse and compelling EP is the first cut from the fruits of those sessions. From the uncertain first steps into an outer world of 'Threshold of Faith' – a barrage of monolithic feedback and intermittent 'footfall' drums backed by oxygen mask inhalations – to the water-droplet beauty (made extra-poignant by the prophetically destructive title) of 'All That You Love Will Be Eviscerated', it's a demonstration in soundscaping from two experts at the craft.
