We’ve already mentioned this before but we’ll say it again, the London based Discrepant label have been on a roll of late, with stellar releases spanning all kinds of leftfield sounds. Their compilation of contemporary takes on indigenous Portuguese music was a big favourite alongside the German Army / Old Komm album. For CREP43 the label have opted for two long-form full side compositions from The Dead Mauriacs, a mysterious French act who channel Denny/Hassell esque exotica in their own unique and spellbinding fashion. What a cover as well.
