Rare compositions from the Ondioline master, Jean-Jacques Perrey! Heavy futurism and dimly lit Parisian jazz cafe vibes aplenty, with sweet chanson pieces (L’ame des Poetes) and orchestral funk numbers (Pioneers of the Stars). Most likely one for the hardcore fans, this is a wide and varied look into the plethora of oddities Mr. Perrey composed over the course of his lifelong career in music. Hypnotic, charming and humorous, this retrospective is an intriguing first release for the new Forgotten Futures label, and one which leaves us second guessing what else may be in store!
