One of our personal favourites from Mr. Riley’s back catalogue sees a timely reissue courtesy of original label Shandar and Belgian maestros Aguirre. Recorded live in Los Angeles and Paris respectively, the LP takes the composer's wonderful electronic drones and hypnotic minimalism to dizzying heights. We remember first hearing this record in Volcanic Tongue years ago, the air thick with incense and the stereo turned up loud. It still remains up there with Reed Streams as some of Riley’s best work, and is a must check for anyone with an interest in free improvisation and/or the proto-techno continuum.
