Bristol’s LTO drops his second full-length on the curious new-ish Injazero Records. The album eschews the more garage- and grime-tinged aesthetic of LTO’s Old Appartus crew, opting instead to further explore ambient music and electronic composition. The overall feel of Storybook is reminiscent of Nils Frahm in the way it uses piano pieces as a base upon which to build detailed and moving soundscapes. There is great beauty to tracks like ‘Enchantment’ and ‘Careful’, both the type of tenderly crafted cuts that evince a producer who knows exactly what he wants to achieve and how to do so. His Bristolian roots are also apparent in the expansive, dub-flecked atmospheres of ‘Tape Loops’ and ‘When’.
