Arguably the unsung pioneer of downtown minimalism, Tony Conrad’s groundbreaking collaboration with Faust has been a cult classic for decades. One just has to watch the recent biopic to gain insight into this remarkable mans artistic practice, be it filmmaking, composing or avant-garde performance. Joined by Rhys Chatham and Laurie Spiegel, the result falls somewhere between the pre-Kraftwerk musings of Tone Float and the hypnotism of fellow downtown musician La Monte Young.
