Dekmantel present the debut EP from much-hyped South African artist Esa. A staggeringly rich collection of global influences, it offers three very different tracks. 'Blast' is a furnace of noise, topped with traditional Gogo vocals and backed by a steady, ominous kick. 'Rift Valley' is a laid-back house track working in vocals and drums from east-African collective Santuri and Abakisimba, and 'Rent-A-Disc' is deep, lo-fi house at it's finest, paying tribute to the Cape Town-based music library of the same name that closed its doors in the late 90s. Great.
