Electronic drones and pulsating rhythmic noise from deepest Tehran on this new Hallow Ground LP from Siavish Amini. Comprising of four tracks, two of which border on the 12-15 minute mark, Tar is some real deal ethereal that’s bound to appeal to any fans of rich and textural sound collages that the likes of Harold Budd have been honing over the past few decades. Some form of Middle Eastern influence feels at work here, with pieces like ‘Rivers Of Tar’ seeming to channel Amini’s own history whilst building upon previous musical structures. It’s a hard one to draw distinct comparisons to, so we recommend giving this one a thorough listen.
