ESP Disk reissue this holy grail of outsider psych rock from the infamous and (highly) morally dubious Charles Manson and associates. Putting aside the actions of Manson and his cult to focus on the music, and there may well be songs here of more worth than just morbid curiosity. The album kicks off sounding like a budget Bob Dylan, but it really gets going with the haunting ‘People Say I’m No Good’. Fans of Ed Askew and Dr. John would do well to check this out, the hippy incense and lysergic pulsations still shining through just as strong as they would have done on the year of release.
