Long time institution for left-of-centre electronics and wacky synth wizardry, Sahko is up there with the likes of Irdial in terms of their relentless output and fierce mission statement. This new release on their PUU imprint comes from somewhere far, far away from snowy Scandinavia however. Living and working in Sao Paolo, R Vincenzo’s new 12” is a curious slice of voodoo funk, latin impressionism and stellar sampling work. Opening with the comical sound of mountain goats and frigid percussion, an onslaught of ritualistic chants soon appear in the mix and lend ‘Cabras no Elevado Quilombola’ a poignant charm that sets the tone for the rest of the mini album.
